Classes

We offer classes from 8 weeks to 5 years and follow a school year schedule beginning in August and ending in May. We are licensed through Oklahoma Department of Human Services as a part day program, operating less than 30 hours per week. Our school day is from 8:30-2:00. At this time, we do not offer before or after care.

Babies

It is so fun to get to be with the babies!  It is amazing to get to see and help them as they grow and develop.  We work on muscle development all while singing and talking to them continually throughout the day.  This class gets to explore different arts and crafts through different textures and activities.  Activities are planned that help develop both a child’s fine motor and gross motor skills.  We incorporate the Bible lessons into our songs, pictures and vocabulary as the students explore and play throughout the day.  We help and encourage them as they grow and reach each one of their milestones.  Our MSCS babies enjoy being talked to and loved daily and we love getting to be with them!

PreK1

Our PreK1 class explores learning objectives through play, touch, sight, sound and even taste! The students get to explore and play through the learning centers. They enjoy singing, reading books and playing group games during their circle time. Our circle time includes Bible stories, color and shape identification, counting and feeling recognition. Each child has fun while learning objectives such as sign language, body part identification and finger puppet games. They have fun exploring colors and shapes in various arts and crafts projects. Activities are planned that help develop both a child’s fine motor and gross motor skills. We help and encourage the students as they grow and reach each one of their milestones!

PreK2

Our PreK2 class learns to sing the alphabet, orally spell their name along with identifying the first letter in their first name.  They learn number recognition 0 - 10 and orally count to 20.  They begin to develop their pencil grip and strengthen their fine motor skills through various art projects, games and writing activities.  The students play and learn together as they rotate through academic centers while learning to follow procedures of the classroom.  Potty training is also an objective presented in a non-pressure manner to encourage students.  Our PreK2 class gets to develop its gross motor skills as they learn to run, jump, kick a ball and stand on tiptoes!  Bible lessons are taught every week that focus on showing God’s love to our friends and family.  This helps build the language and foundation for our PreK2 class to communicate about making good choices.

PreK3

Our PreK3 class focuses on academic skills along with social skills. They learn to recognize all of their letters and write all capital letters A-Z and numbers 0 -10.  This class explores number recognition 0 - 20, orally counts to 50.  Patterning, positional words, sorting and sequencing are a few of our math objectives.   They learn to recognize their name in print along with the letters that are in their name.  Our Bible curriculum focuses on teaching the students how God made them special, how God loves us and how we should love others.  This allows us to use the same vocabulary in helping them as they work and play together.  The students are encouraged to make loving choices for themselves and for their friends.  Our centers are created to meet educational objectives allowing students to learn through play every day using their imaginations to make their own discoveries!

PreK4

Our PreK4 class focuses on mastering letter recognition, writing and sounds of the alphabet and sounding out CVC words. Second semester the class will start working on Pre-Primer Dolch sight words and begin the process of reading first level sight word books. They work on number recognition, oral counting and writing numbers 0 - 100. They learn addition sentences, introduce money and analog clock skills. This class uses Handwriting Without Tears for phonics and Horizons Preschool curriculum for math, social studies, science and Bible. All of these focus on how God created our world because of His love for us, how we should take care of it and how we should love others. Our class size maxes out at 15 students allowing an intimate growth environment. PreK4 and K will take a field trip each semester allowing them to explore the world around them in order to connect the classroom to their environment!

Kindergarten

Our MSCS Kindergarten program is full of adventure while learning!  We will continue to work on reading and math skills, as well as, developing their writing skills, grammar and sentence structure.  We follow Horizons K Curriculum for phonics and math and Horizons 1st Curriculum for Bible, Social Studies and Science. All of these focus on the earth God has created and how we can take care of it through loving ourselves and others.  This class size can go up to 7 students.  Everyday the students will learn while: doing, playing, moving, discussing and creating.  PreK4 and K will take a field trip each semester allowing them to explore the world around them in order to connect the classroom to their environment!  The students get to be involved in community outreach projects, a Christmas play and an ecosystem/animal research project at the end of the year.   The kindergarten year ends with the students putting together a presentation for their kindergarten graduation for friends and family to come see!
